Privacy notice

How Muscle Medicine collects, uses and protects your information. Last updated 31 August 2026.

Who is responsible

Liaqat Ali, trading as Muscle Medicine, is the data controller for the information described here. Muscle Medicine is a sole trader based at Malik House, 94 Armley Rd, Armley, Leeds LS12 2EJ.

For anything about your information, contact musclemedrehab@gmail.com or call 07922 884 788.

What is collected, and why

If you send a message through this website

The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, and a short description of what you need help with. It is used only to reply to you and arrange an appointment.

The form deliberately asks you not to include detailed medical history. That conversation belongs in the room, on the consultation form, not in a web form that arrives by email.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests — responding to an enquiry you chose to send.

Online booking

Online booking is not yet running on this site. Appointments are arranged by phone, email or in person. When online booking is added, this notice will be updated before it goes live.

Your treatment records

If you become a client, a consultation and treatment record is kept. This is a clinical record, held securely and separately from this website, and it is never uploaded to it. It is used to provide safe, continuous treatment and is kept for as long as professional and insurance obligations require.

You will be told about this record, and asked to consent to treatment, at your first appointment.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracking. Nothing follows you around after you leave. That is why you are not being asked to dismiss a cookie banner.

If analytics is ever added, a privacy-respecting tool will be chosen and this notice will be updated first.

Who else handles your information

Your information is never sold, and never shared for marketing. It is handled by these services, only so this business can function:

  • Netlify — Hosts the website and receives contact form submissions. Privacy policy

Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it, or where there is a serious risk to someone's safety.

How long it is kept

  • Enquiries that do not become appointments — deleted within 12 months.
  • Appointment and treatment records — kept for the period required by professional and insurance obligations, then securely destroyed.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information held about you
  • have inaccurate information corrected
  • ask for information to be deleted
  • ask that its use be restricted
  • object to its use
  • ask for it in a portable format

Some of these are limited where clinical records must be retained for professional or insurance reasons — but ask, and you will get a straight answer about what applies.

To exercise any of these, email musclemedrehab@gmail.com. You will get a response within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please raise it directly first — most things are resolved quickly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
