What I do

Treatments

Twelve techniques, chosen to fit the problem rather than applied to everyone. If you are not sure what you need, book an assessment and we will work it out together.

Assessment & rehab

Working out what is actually wrong, then building a plan to fix it.

Injury assessment and treatment plans

A full assessment to find out what is actually causing the problem, and a written plan for putting it right.

  • New injuries
  • Pain that keeps coming back
  • Not knowing what is wrong

Posture realignment

Assessing how you actually hold and move your body, then addressing what has pulled it out of position.

  • Desk-related neck and shoulder pain
  • Rounded shoulders
  • Recurring lower back pain

Muscle energy techniques and PNF

Using your own muscle contractions against resistance to restore range of movement — you work, not just the therapist.

  • Restricted range of movement
  • Stiff joints
  • Muscle imbalance

Peripheral joint mobilisations

Gentle, controlled movement applied to a stiff joint to restore its natural glide.

  • Stiff shoulders
  • Restricted ankles
  • Stiffness after a sprain

Soft tissue therapy

Hands-on treatment of muscle, fascia and the tissue around them.

Sports massage to prevent and manage injury

Deep, targeted work on muscle and connective tissue — to keep training on track, and to sort out problems when they appear.

  • Muscle tightness and soreness
  • Recovery between sessions
  • Niggles that limit training

Soft tissue release

A lock-and-stretch technique that targets a specific tight band of muscle rather than the whole muscle.

  • Localised tightness
  • Restricted range of movement
  • Scar tissue after an injury

Soft tissue mobilisation

Graded hands-on techniques to restore movement between muscle, fascia and the structures around them.

  • Stiffness after injury
  • Tissue that feels "stuck"
  • Reduced flexibility

Myofascial release

Slow, sustained pressure on the fascia — the connective tissue wrapping every muscle in the body.

  • Widespread tightness
  • Postural restriction
  • Pain without an obvious single cause

Trigger point therapy

Sustained pressure on the tight, tender knots that refer pain to other parts of the body.

  • Referred pain
  • Tension headaches
  • Knots that keep returning

Additional techniques

Used alongside hands-on work where they help.

Medical acupuncture

Fine needles into specific muscular points to reduce pain and release tight tissue. Western, evidence-based approach.

  • Persistent muscular pain
  • Trigger points that resist pressure
  • Tension headaches

Cupping

Suction cups that lift and decompress tissue, rather than pressing into it.

  • Tight, stubborn areas
  • Restricted fascia
  • Broad areas of tension like the back

Pre and post event treatments

Short, focused treatment before competition to prepare, and afterwards to speed recovery.

  • Race and competition days
  • Fight camps and tournaments
  • Back-to-back events

Not sure which you need?

That is normal, and it is not your job to work it out. Book an assessment — I will examine the problem and tell you what will actually help, even if that turns out to be something other than treatment with me.

Event cover and on-site workplace sessions are also available at a £400 day rate — get in touch.
